Wow! This Toastmasters year has brought us adventure, change and opportunity like we have never seen before. I, for one, am eternally grateful that I had the good fortune to go through all of it with you.

My goal for the 2019-2020 Toastmasters year was to put in place systems and infrastructure that will last and serve as a foundation for growth for the future of District 32. I believe that together, we accomplished this goal.

We worked together (all of the Division and Area Directors + the Top 6 leaders) from the very beginning to create the District Success Plan. I want to say a special thank you to the District Leaders. Your commitment to supporting our clubs and growing leaders from within your clubs has been phenomenal. This is evidenced by the new team of leaders we have for the 2020-2021 year, many of whom served as Assistant Directors this year.

In addition, we created Education and Training committees and a Public Relations committee. With the dawn of COVID-19, the Nerdmasters committee came into being. Teams worked together to bring you TLI events, Member Development Days, Speaker-to-Trainer events and other training that our member requested.

Our conference committee was in the midst of creating a fantastic event when our whole world changed. They carried on, quickly regrouped and we had our very first online contests.

At the beginning of my year as Director for D32, I could not possibly have envisioned what was in store for us all. Just as Carolyn and the team don’t know what the next year will hold.

This I do know, I am grateful for each and every member and leader of our District and the greater Toastmasters world. None of us does our job alone. What you’re doing each week in your clubs changes people. This ripples out and makes our world a better place.

Thank you for the opportunities I’ve had this year. Thank you for the suppport and encouragement. Thank you for the trials, questions and challenges.

I’m excited for all we have accomplished together. I can’t wait to see what the new year brings. I am glad we get to do this all together.

Ginny Grabowski, District Director 2019-2020
