Toastmasters leadership is unlike any other leadership role. Where else can you lead a group of people eager to learn, willing to share feedback, and offering support to help you succeed?

I once did a team project. I had less than 6 weeks to plan three events. Who did I call on? Toastmasters, of course! My call was to a club in which member experience varied wildly…30 years to newbies. I said “if you have skills to share, please join me. If you don’t, but you want to learn the skills, please join me.” To my joy and astonishment, no fewer than 10 people said yes! We learned together how to market events to community organizations, to public officials, to club members. We shared our love of Toastmasters, and what we had gained from being members. Together, we made memories, and tapped each other to be our best selves.

Why leadership in Toastmasters? I love a title! Seriously! I love knowing that I’ve mastered a skill enough to earn a title, and I love helping others gain the skills to lead. Only in Toastmasters did I gain confidence to lead.
