Toastmasters Week – February 4-10, 2018

by | Nov 10, 2017

Plan a club membership building event during this week to take advantage of district and statewide public relation activities!

Governor Jay Inslee has graciously declared February 4-10, 2018 as Toastmasters Week in Washington state. District Leadership asks every D32 Club to hold some kind of special event that week, if possible. And make sure to advertise your event in local media and D32 media. For example, in past years, the six Federal Way Toastmaster Clubs have held a joint open house at the Federal Way Regional Library.

Whether it’s a combined event with nearby clubs, an open house, a public educational event, or a special part of your regular meeting, this is your opportunity to leverage District-wide publicity. D32 Public Relations Manager Esther Jones-Alley is happy to assist with press releases and other publicity items. Contact her at aesther2@gmail.com.

Since the Alaska Governor’s Office does not declare such things for specific organizations, D32 is looking for a broader cause that could be related to Toastmasters Club events to ask for a declaration. Current ideas include “Leadership Week”, “Public Speaking Week”, and “Communications Improvement Week”.  If you have an idea to share, contact District 32 Director Mike Marion at mmarion@worldvision.org.
